Meet Gerry

Gerry Hassett - Gainline.eu

I have decades of high-level commercial experience managing businesses of substance both in Ireland and internationally with a strong track record of delivery. I have lots of experience in M&A. I also know how to develop people and teams. In particular, I think I can mentor leadership teams to reach their goals.

I’ve just returned from Canada where I completed a restructure and transformation of the Individual Customer division of Great-West Life (4m customers, C$90bn assets, 4,000 employees). Key themes were customer centricity, organisation refresh, digitisation, agile labs and a new vision based on the concept of ‘lifetime advice’.

Previously I worked with Irish Life for 26 years. I ran the Retail division for 10 years (800,000 customers, €15bn assets, 1,000 employees). I leveraged the economic downturn to reconfigure the business model around changing customer needs and changing market economics. Our market share grew from 22% to 35% in the period and we doubled our RoI.

I had previously done a B2B start-up for Irish Life that generated 15% of total sales within 2 years. I was also Chair of an international SaaS business offering specialist life admin services to firms across Europe.
